Laptop Repair in Delano, MN — and Nationwide by Mail

Laptops take the most physical abuse of anything on our bench — screens, hinges, and charging ports carry that wear. We repair Windows laptops, Chromebooks, and MacBooks, covering both the damage you can see and the faults you cannot.

Hand the laptop off at our Delano service location during business hours (8:30 AM–7:30 PM daily), or mail it in from anywhere in the contiguous United States. Diagnostic fees are approved at intake; the repair only happens once you approve the repair quote.

Typical starting range$110 – $285Starting estimate only. The final price is confirmed after we inspect the device. Diagnostic charges are approved at intake; repair work requires your approval.

Standard intake is a $25 bench fee for intake and physical shelf space plus a $45 diagnostic fee covering the first 30 minutes of diagnostic bench time. Declined or unrepairable devices owe a flat $70, plus return shipping for mail-in orders. When deeper repair or board-level work is needed beyond the first 30 minutes, approved shop labor continues in 20-minute increments at $40 per increment ($120/hour). We agree on hidden-damage and additional-work limits at intake before proceeding.

How the repair runs

Damage assessment

We open the laptop, look for liquid residue and impact damage, and check whether a display fault is the panel, the cable, or the board.

Screens and hinges

Panel replacement is model-specific, so part cost depends on your exact laptop. We confirm the correct panel before quoting the final price.

Charging and battery work

Charging problems get traced through the port, the cable, and the charging circuit — replacing the battery when that is not the cause solves nothing.

Reassembly and testing

Every laptop is reassembled fully, then tested for display, keyboard, trackpad, charging, and heat before it goes back to you.

Before you drop off or ship

  • Back up your files first — laptop repairs are the most common case where a drive turns out to be part of the problem.
  • Include the charger if the fault is charging-related; leave the bag and accessories at home.
  • If the laptop still boots, note whether it is sign-in protected so we can test it after the repair.

Laptop Repair questions

What are your liquid-damage terms?
Liquid-damaged devices require an upfront, non-refundable diagnostic/cleaning fee, with the amount confirmed and approved before work begins. They are serviced strictly As-Is / No Warranty because latent corrosion can cause future failures. Data recovery is a separate paid service.
How much does a laptop screen replacement cost?
It depends entirely on your model, because the panel is the bulk of the cost and panels vary widely. Submit the request form with the exact make and model and we will give you a starting estimate before you bring it in.
My laptop only charges at certain angles. What is wrong?
That symptom almost always points to a worn or loose charging port, which is repairable. We confirm it during diagnosis rather than assuming, since a failing charger or charging circuit produces similar behaviour.
Is a swollen battery dangerous?
Treat it seriously — stop using and stop charging the laptop, and do not press on the swelling. Bring it in for replacement rather than shipping it if you can, since carriers restrict damaged lithium batteries.
I spilled liquid on my laptop. Is it worth repairing?
Sometimes, and speed matters. Power it off, do not charge it, and get it to us as soon as you can. Liquid damage needs cleaning and inspection before anyone can say what survived, which is why it takes extra diagnostic time. An upfront non-refundable diagnostic/cleaning fee is agreed before work; liquid-damaged devices are As-Is / No Warranty and data recovery is separately priced.
Will I lose my files during a laptop repair?
Most repairs never touch your storage, and we aim to return the machine exactly as it came in. Back up anyway before any service — that is good practice regardless of who works on it.
