Desktop Computer Repair in Delano, MN — and Nationwide by Mail

Desktops are the easiest machines to diagnose properly because every part is testable and replaceable. We work on prebuilt and custom towers alike — power problems, failing drives, memory faults, thermal issues, and the software side when the hardware checks out clean.

Drop the tower off at our Delano service location during business hours (8:30 AM–7:30 PM daily), or mail it in from anywhere in the Lower 48. You get the diagnosis and the price before any parts are ordered.

Typical starting range$110 – $253Starting estimate only. The final price is confirmed after we inspect the device. Diagnostic charges are approved at intake; repair work requires your approval.

Standard intake is a $25 bench fee for intake and physical shelf space plus a $45 diagnostic fee covering the first 30 minutes of diagnostic bench time. Declined or unrepairable devices owe a flat $70, plus return shipping for mail-in orders. When deeper repair or board-level work is needed beyond the first 30 minutes, approved shop labor continues in 20-minute increments at $40 per increment ($120/hour). We agree on hidden-damage and additional-work limits at intake before proceeding.

How the repair runs

Isolate the failing part

We test power supply output, memory, and storage individually rather than guessing. On a no-post machine that means working through the boot chain component by component.

Hardware versus software

A slow computer is not always a hardware problem. We check drive health and temperatures first, then look at the software side so you are not paying for parts you do not need.

Upgrades done properly

Storage and memory upgrades include making sure the machine actually recognises and uses the new hardware, not just installing it.

Stability testing

Before the tower goes back, it runs long enough under load to show that the original symptom is gone.

Before you drop off or ship

  • Back up anything irreplaceable before service — always, on any machine.
  • Send the tower only unless the fault involves your monitor, keyboard, or mouse.
  • Tell us your Windows sign-in method if the repair needs the machine booted to the desktop.

Desktop Computer Repair questions

What are your liquid-damage terms?
Liquid-damaged devices require an upfront, non-refundable diagnostic/cleaning fee, with the amount confirmed and approved before work begins. They are serviced strictly As-Is / No Warranty because latent corrosion can cause future failures. Data recovery is a separate paid service.
My desktop will not turn on at all. Where do you start?
With power. We confirm whether the power supply is delivering correct voltages, then work forward through the motherboard, memory, and video output. A dead desktop is often a power supply, and that is a straightforward replacement.
Can you make my slow computer usable again without replacing it?
Often yes. Slowness commonly traces back to a failing or full mechanical hard drive, overheating, or software problems. We check drive health and temperatures first and tell you honestly whether a repair or an upgrade is the better value.
Do you build custom computers?
Tell us what you are after in the request form and we will let you know whether it is something we can take on. Hardware installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting on existing builds are all standard work for us.
Can you recover files from a failing drive?
We can often copy data off a drive that is still readable, and we will tell you plainly when a drive is too far gone for that. Data recovery is a separate paid service. Physical platter-level recovery is beyond what we do in-house.
Do you charge if the problem turns out to be unfixable?
Standard intake is a $25 bench fee for intake and physical shelf space plus a $45 diagnostic fee covering the first 30 minutes of diagnostic bench time. Declined or unrepairable devices owe a flat $70, plus return shipping for mail-in orders.
